about

CLASSICA
Classica is a musical meditation on time and eternity. Music, while performed and listened to in time, itself exists as a timeless and spaceless mystery. Universal themes occur in the music of all times and cultures: sonnets to beauty and romance, the melancholy recognition of transience, hope and longing for transcendence and redemption. In this spirit, this work aims to harmonize many disparate genres, worldviews, and ideas, seeking the common element, the absolute, the one that underlies and unifies the many. With Classica, Metasonica seeks the harmony between Western Classical music, other traditional music forms of the world, and modern styles.

LYRICS

CREATION / THIS IS FOREVER
(© Metasonica)

In the beginning, there was only the silence
In the endless darkness of formless chaos
Until, at last, the sound began
Sending waves out into the infinite
Creating the world, the sun, and the stars
Arranging existence into harmony
The sound became music

The music of this universe
Reveals all that words cannot express
Of hope, of loss, of transcendence
Of what was and always will be
Of what is real... and what is a dream

Listen...

This is the past
This is the future
This is forever

ETERNITY
(Gregorian Chant, Latin)

Victimae paschali laudes
immolent Christiani.

Agnus redemit oves:
Christus innocens Patri
reconciliavit peccatores.

Mors et vita duello
conflixere mirando:
dux vitae mortuus,
regnat vivus.

Dic nobis Maria,
quid vidisti in via?

Sepulcrum Christi viventis,
et gloriam vidi resurgentis:

Angelicos testes,
sudarium, et vestes.

Surrexit Christus spes mea:
praecedet suos in Galilaeam.

[Credendum est magis soli
Mariae veraci
Quam Judaeorum Turbae fallaci.]

Scimus Christum surrexisse
a mortuis vere:
tu nobis, victor Rex, miserere.
Amen.

INFINITY
(© Metasonica)

C'est seulement le commencement.
C'est le passé.
C'est l'avenir
C'est pour toujours.

C'est seulement le commencement.
Il n'y a pas de fin.
C'est pour toujours.

C'est pour toujours.

Translation [engl.]
This is only the beginning.
This is the past.
This is the future.
This is forever.

This is only the beginning.
There is no end.
This is forever.

This is forever.
